Retirement 2009

Everyone had a good time at the retirement dinner. It was good to see a lot of old faces. Joe Reed was there "dressed and pressed". And there were lots of tears. As you will see for yourselves.

I really wanted to put all the pictures up here but I'm afraid it may bog down your computers. If there is an image you like from the retirement dinner let me know and I'll get it to you. Don't forget that on the bottom right hand corner there is a button to look at the images one by one.

Please enjoy

Tedd Laycock Retires

In case you missed the Fire Chiefs Retirement dinner.  Here is a recap.

Tim Strack was M.C. for the event.
He had a moving speech that got everyones attention and made Tedd joyful.
After Tim invited Tedd on stage...
he poked fun at him.
Some of the local chiefs from the surrounding areas were at hand to bring praise and awards.

Then came time for Oran who roasted the chief.

The division chiefs where there to draw support for Tedd.
They gave Tedd, an honest to goodness native American, an make shift indian head dress.
Then they presented him with the traditional retirement chiefs helmet.
Tedd was also given an award from the LOCAL 1067 Union.  The Union reps were on hand to present and give thanks.
Cindy, Tedd's wife, was asked to join Tedd in receiving a trip from all who came that night.

At the end Tedd came up and said a few words that moved many people and cause him to choke up as well.  He was moved by everything that night and will honestly miss everyone.  We know we will miss him too.

At the end we played a short video of his life and some fun pictures from the guys.  If your curious to see what was played we encourage you to attend the retirement dinner.
